Wow is all I can say about this town. We again only wandered around by ourselves, we chose not to worry about the stress of going on any excursions this trip with it being our first cruise.
We ‘landed’ in port, disembarked and were overwhelmed by the beauty of this place.
This was our smallest port. We took a walk around the town, enjoyed sights like small local orchards and scenes from what felt like the sound of music.
We walked up a significant hill to reach a small church and museum/shop. Looped around the top and back down a significant downwards hill with no pavement back down to the waterfront.
We found a small boat docking area, where we just sat and reflected for a little whilst watching the sea planes take off and land.
This was one of our true moments of joy on this holiday.
Walking back towards the ship we found a sign post that was on the children’s life list for this holiday (life list: identical to bucket list but stuff to do during your life instead of before you die. Yes it’s a matter of wording but for us it’s a more positive outlook).
We discovered an area which had been yarn bombed and left some of our worms to be found.
And found a small stone beach, which gave the children some space to run off their energy and a space for the adults to take some more stunning photographs.
There were several other paths we could have taken, one of which was up a hill/mountain, which no doubt had unbelievable views, however we chose to not kill ourselves (especially after climbing all those stairs for the view a few days before) and ruin the remainder of our holiday with pain.
Although this was our smallest port and there was very little to do, we loved it. The peace it brought to our soul was life changing.
